I was thinking of dining at Celadon in July

Menu looks interesting and the wine list affordable.

Better suggestions?

1. Re: Dining

We have eaten there several times - twice this year

and all I can say is that it keeps on getting better and better

and it was excellent before

The inside is more elegant setting; the outside is a very nice patio with fireplaces....

so when you make your reservation you might want to let them know which area you prefer if you have a prefernce.

Yeah - great choice!

(Note: There are a number of other stellar restaurants in Napa Valley - what is nice about this place is that there choice of small, medium and large plates are all good. We have often ordered several of the smaller and medium dishes and then split a large plate. They do a great job of splitting the large sizes - and brings it out on two separate plates. Just mentioning as there are a number of great dishes in the differernt areas of the menu....

hi harcon_13 - agree with mini, Celadon is a great choice! This is one of those downtown Napa restaurants that has been around for quite awhile and sometimes overlooked, but shouldn't be! Owner & chef Greg Cole (also owns Cole's Chop House nearby) has been in Napa for almost 30 years (graduate of the CIA, learned food & wine from some of Napa's most famous), and his restaurants consistently turn out inventive and delicious meals night after night. As locals, we go to Celadon for special occasions and have never had a bad meal. The service is exceptional.

Also as locals - most of whom would go broke if we dined at Napa's best restaurants every night - we think Celadon is a great value. Just because you don't hear about Celadon as much as some of the more famous restaurants, doesn't mean it isn't as good ... give it a try!
