A choice between Meadowood & Bardessono is a choice between 'old Napa Valley' and 'new Napa Valley'.
Meadowood: rustic elegance, private cottages, exclusive, remote, heavily wooded, complete country club amenities (golf course, croquet, tennis, swimming, spa), on-site 3-star restaurant + casual bar & grill, older clientele. Car dependent. Meadowood is the private country club of Napa Valley's elite.
Bardessono: uber contemporary, hotel-like, in-town location (cars, people), not a resort but having tons of upscale amenities to make your stay comfortable & luxurious, roof top pool, walking distance to Yountville's top restaurants, shopping & tasting rooms, younger clientele.
Does that help?
Perfect! I already booked Bardessano and I have a dinner reservation at Meadowood...since French Laundry will be closed during our stay.
Bardessono. Much more convenient, and a world class hotel. Can walk everywhere in Yountville, which is the epicenter of the Valley. LEED Platinum certified makes it one of, if not the greenest hotel in the world. Great restaurant and bar, beautiful and spacious rooms, and service second to none. Rated #1 of 54 resorts, hotels and inns in Napa Valley, #3 in all of the U.S. But if you want seclusion, car dependency, and the countryside, Meadowood is a better choice. It, too, is a very good hotel.
Now I must confess....to being an employee at Bardessono. Love the place and my co-workers. Great place to work, and it shows in the service to our guests.Edited: 1:17 am, May 16, 2013
Best of both worlds! We really enjoyed our stay at Bardessono! Beautiful rooms, great rooftop pool and very friendly staff. Have fun! :)
Worked out well! Stayed at Bardessono and walked to Ad Hoc, Bouchon, Red, Domain Chandon, etc, etc. Drove to Meadowood for an EPIC dinner! Thanks for the help.
