Dinner Suggestions

We will be staying in Yountville for 2 nights, October 13 & 14. We are staying at Petit Logis and are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We love to dine, but like to keep a complete dinner for 2 under $200. We are not huge wine drinkers (my husband prefers beer.) Any suggestions?

All the restaurants usually serve a wide variety of different kinds of beers (some from the tap, etc.) so that won't be an issue. In terms of dollars under $200.00 should be easy to achieve. The key thing is what kind of atmosphere do you like....

A few I like are:

Brannan's Grill in Calistoga

www.toprestaurants.com/sf/brannansgrill.htm

Hurley's Restaurant

http://www.hurleysrestaurant.com/

Napa Valley Grill

http://www.napavalleygrille.com/

There are other good ones in Yountville too (French Laundry, Brix) but I think of those as more "wine lover" restaurants.

jawooddog-

You may want to try the town of Napa for restaurants as well (we have a microbrewery- Downtown Joes-- and a wine bar (the Bounty Hunter) with both Guiness, Bass, and several other artisan brews on tap. Lots more in the bottle (including a non-alcoholic Hefe Weissen, if you can believe that!).

Note to mini- Napa Valley Grille does indeed have a good selection of beers, but none are on tap (just bottled).

Jawood- By all means, call Petit Logis and talk to them about restaurants. They should be making reservations for you well in advance, since October is notorius for being busy (meaning that virtually every single restaurant in Yountville will be booked or have 1 hr+ waits the day you arrive).

Enjoy your stay-- October (grape harvest) is a wonderful time to visit Napa!

If you want to book restaurants on line, go to

www.opentable.com and you can see many of the restaurants and times available to book. Its easy and you don't need to book through your inn-keeper. Inn keepers usually try to book at 7:00 p.m. which means the restaurants get totally overbooked at that time. By booking at 6:45 or 7:15 or a bit later, its easier to get a reservation. I am sure your inn keeper is willing to help (but give him/her) some flexibility on times.

www.opentable.com

Region; San Francisco

Then go to: Wine Country

to see the avaialability.

ps: Stay around Yountville/Calistoga for your anniversary dinner as its the nicer part of the Napa Valley.

Russ knows that but his inn is in Napa.

St. Helena is also very nice. We like Tra Vigne, Terra, Domaine Chandon and Bistro Jeanty for very nice meals. We also like Auberge du Soleil for the great views from the outside terrace and wonderful food. :)
