Dukes

Thinking of going to Dukes tomorrow for a late lunch after arriving LAX. Can you walk down to the beach or beach side path from Dukes? On a Sunday how much time should we allot to get back to West LA(Hollywood Blvd)?

There's beach access next to the restaurant.

Sunday traffic back to Hollywood will be heavy, but only on the portion along PCH. Take Sunset Blvd back to Hollywood, not the freeway.

Hollywood is NOT West LA. Where are you heading, exactly?

What time are you arriving at LAX? What time is the concert?

From Duke's to the Dixie Motel, which is definitely NOT in West LA, could be an hour or even longer, depending on beach traffic and which route you use.

Your biggest problem will be traffic from LAX to Duke's. PCH traffic in both directions will be heavy.

Figure about an hour from LAX to Duke's (plus the hour at LAX itself, arriving and getting to the rental place and getting your car), then about an hour or so to the Dixie.

What time do you arrive?

Looks like your show is at 6PM, so you would need to leave Duke's by about 3:30 to get to your hotel, check in, change and then get to the Greek (bad traffic there).

An alternative would be lunch at one of the Marina del Rey restaurants along Admiralty - Salt, Warehouse, Tony P's, Cafe del Rey, Cheesecake Factory, Killer Shrimp...

Thanks for the input! Really love a bit more of a dramatic ocean backdrop thus the interest in Malibu(like Laguna, etc). We usually like time to relax at our accommodations but not sure the low end Dixie is that relaxing ;). Will spend the next two days in relax mode in Palm Springs at our favorite spot...

I think the Dixie will pleasantly surprise you.

But I would do my late lunch in Manhattan Beach at one of the restaurants near the Pier.

Plan both Malibu and Dukes for a different day, it's worth it!

If you want lunch, you will have to eat in the Barefoot Bar, the main restaurant only serves Brunch on Sunday (their brunch used to be quite good though).
