Staples Center via Metro?

Could someone please tell me how to get to Staples Center from Universal Station? The stop is 7th Street? Then is it a walk, a long walk, or what? This is for a sunday noon, thanks.

From Universal you take the Red Line to 7th Street Metro Station. This the transfer point to the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line one stop to Pico, and you will be at Staples Center.

If you are returning to Universal, take the Blue Line back to 7th - and when you get off , be sure to take the Red Line train that indicates NORTH HOLLYWOOD, and not Wilshire and Western.

you can transfer to the station which is one station away from 7th St, it stops at Pico and goes all the way to Long Beach (does Blue Line sound right?). If you transfer, you have to exit your train, walk to another level to take the other train. The Pico stop is right in front of Staples..

I'd recommend walking south on Figueroa from the station. I think unless the Blue Line train is right in the station, the time you'd spend waiting would be better used making the walk. It is only four blocks.
