You have a number of options that vary in transfer time, cost and ease of transfer. From cheapest to most expensive:

1. DIY (do it yourself: use public transit):

a. Take the free shuttle from your hotel to the red line station

b. Take the red line to Union (rail) station: 26 minutes, $4.50 for the lot of you. (If you have already purchased a DAY PASS for the public transit system on that day, the red line fare will be included in that PASS).

c. Metrolinktrains.com train or Amtrak.com train from Union Station to Anaheim Station. Via Metrolink, transfer time is 48 minutes at a cost of $26.25 for the 3 of you. Via Amtrak, it's 37 minutes at a cost of $42 for the 3 of you.

d. Taxi from Anaheim station to the hotel.(2 or 3 minutes, $10 or less including tip).

All in, via Metrolink: transfer time of 1 hour 45 minutes, at a cost of $40.75; via Amtrak, transfer time of 1 hour, 55 minutes, at a cost of $56.25

Of course, you'll need to find your way but everyone you meet will know how to direct you to Union Station and finally Anaheim. You'll have to carry your own luggage, though so if your bags are heavy, numerous or don't have wheels (or you just don't want to tote your luggage). this option won't work for you.

2. Hire a car for the day.

a. Transfer to Burbank airport to get the car. (Only one of you needs to do this and then return to the hotel to pick up the others and the luggage). You have 2 options:

i. By taxi: 5 miles (about $20 including tip), 15 minutes.

ii. By public transit: a couple of routes. One is to take the free shuttle to the red line station, the red line one stop (north!) to the North Hollywood Station ($1.50, 4 minute ride), transfer to the Burbank Bus "NoHo Empire" from parking space #2 in the bus plaza next to the metro rail station. ($1, about 16 minutes). All in, about 30 minutes including 'waiting time' between the 2 conveyances.

b. Hire a car from CarHire3000.com. Rates are about $42 for the day including necessary insurance. (Drive back to the Sheraton to get the others -- 15 minutes). Drive from the Sheraton to the Peacock (about 45 minutes) and drop off luggage and others. Drop car at nearby lot at Downtown Disney. You'll need to pay for petrol at the end of the trip (about $10). Get a free ride back to the hotel.

Total transfer (including transfer to BUR to get the car):

Via Taxi to Burbank Airport: $72 , 75 minutes

Via public transit to Burbank Airport: $53.50 , 90 minutes

3. Via Lux Bus (door-to-door coach bus service):

$102 for the three of you. Transfer time: between 90 and 100 minutes including the time it takes to pick up and drop off other passengers at their hotels. Two pick up times: early morning and late morning.

Your choice!
