Heisler Park Wedding Locations

Hi everyone!

Me and my wife to be are planning to get married in Heisler Park, Laguna Beach this October. We are travelling from the UK in the hope of some sunshine!

Anyway, I have been in touch with the wedding permit office with regards to a permit for our ceremony, and they have said we need to choose a specific location from:

Wave Bench

Rock Bench

monument point

Trouble is, being so far away makes it tricky to find information out so that we can decide!

Does or can anyone help us with some photos or details on each of these so we can be best places to decide for our big day?

Thanks in advance!

One of my nephews had his (first) wedding on Heisler Park Beach. My sister arranged it, so I will ask her what the name of it is and report back. The reception was held above the beach where there are picnic tables and BBQ's and a nice grassy park. The tables and BBQ's had to be reserved and we needed to make sure we did not go past the time alloted, but it was a fair amount of time. The grassy area came in handy when the sun was out in full force and some guests btought blankets. The guests that stayed the longest had to make a run for it when the lawn sprinklers turned on. Ha, ha.

There was a long ramp that goes down to tne beach from that area. The beach was stunning, yet simple. The minister was nice and I can get his name and contact info if you like. The ceremony included the bride and groom each having a shell of beach sand and combining them into one shell tnat was later put into a bottle as a keepsake. That may have been their idea, but the minister could help you find out how to do that and what you need to bring.

That weekend I stayed at the Capri Laguna, which is a fairly nice basic motel with some rooms built into a cliff overlooking the ocean. They have a wedding gazebo there, on a deck with flowers and an ocean view. Looked nice to me. The beach there is flatter and looks expansive. Still had rock outcropping in ocean. Hardly anyone on the beach when I went in wadding, felt private.

I got married in the gazebo in Sept 2006. It was the most beautiful spot for a 6 pm wedding. Although you technically rent the gazebo, there are people walking into the gazebo during your ceremony. I would recommend a ribbon or rope to block the entrance, if you want it kept for yourself.
