We have a new plan

I have given up on the idea that I can find a nice 2 bedroom condo on the beach for Presidents Day. I know I waited too long to decide.

Anyway, now we want to find a decent hotel and walk to restaurants in La Jolla. Thanks

Never mind, we have just booked our rooms at the Empress Hotel-La Jolla. Any opinion?

I would love to hear suggestions for places to eat and drink around there. $$ and $$$

Thanks

The Crab Catcher is a nice restaurant in La Jolla, George's California Modern is also very good, both of these places are on Prospect St. in La Jolla. :)

You chose an excellent location. You can walk everywhere from the hotel. On the street of your hotel is the Tapenade Restaurant, which is $$$. Roppongi is around the corner ($$$) and has very interesting tapas (east meets west). The Crab Catcher is nice, and one of my favorites is the Brockton Villa. I have never been to Nine-Ten at the Grande Colonial hotel, but people I know love it ($$$).
