Hi Bren, I am a 54 year old Irishman looking for information to move long term to Sihanoukville. I have a budget of about 1100 usdollars a month. Can you tell me things like cost of living and rent for a 2 bedroomed place, I'm not looking for anything big or fancy. I would also like some info on getting involved in the charity work in the local community. Any info you could give me woud be appreciated. My email is ger.roche@live.ie Thank You Gerard

Perhaps you should go there as a tourist and do some research yourself. Far better to get an idea first hand than rely on others on a travel forum

try to the new condo just after the Red Snapper Guest House, it is located near the Vietnamese Consulate. The road is called "the road to prison as there is the city's jail just at the end of it. There is also a Muslim Mosque nearby. The condo's owner is a French Cambodian. The apartments are built according to western standards.

From 150 $ up.

Worth a visit.

Sihanoukville or Snookyville is dirt cheap and 1100 USD will go a very long way or maybe not so far if you are a gambling man as casinos are big there. I have a friend staying in a modest apartment with aircon and he pays $250

Here is a website being developed by my friend while he is living in Snooky.
