1/2 nights in wine region - where to stay?

Hi there.

We are a honeymoon couple currently planning our trip (starting in Mexico then on to San Fran). We are spending about 4 nights in San Fran and then we hope to drive out to the wine region and overnight there (maybe 2 nights).

It looks like Sonoma and Napa areas are the two places to go to. I'd like the recommendation of a very nice hotel/inn/B&B (budget of about €300 for a night) it doesn't have to be in the country - a nice Hotel near restaurants would be great.

The Restaurant itself would be one of the most important part of the trip as we are not exactly wine buffs(but would certainly like to become one!!). The French Laundry sounds enticing but I wouldn't like to book a hotel nearby on the premise of getting a table there. I know Yountville has other good restaurants so maybe that would suit? Maybe Healdsburg?

Any ideas welcome.

Les Mars in Healdsburg might be just what you are looking for, but the price might be too high...see if they have any specials going. Also Hotel Healdsburg would be a good choice...luxury hotels with fine restaurants on the premises...
