Must Do's for Short Trip to Guerneville from San Fran

Hi, we are 2 couples in our early 50's heading to Guerneville for 2 nights next month. We would like a scenic drive from San Fran with some recommended things to do along the way. Then while in Guerneville, we would like to do some wine tasting. Looking for a recommendations on wineries to visit. We like dry reds and whites. Also if you can recommend a reasonable driver or tour company that is small and personal for wine tastings. Restaurant recommendations would be great too. Are there any natural hot springs in the area? We are staying at Applewood Inn while we are there. Thank you!

Staying at Applewood Inn at least one night enjoy dinner there. Its a good restaurant.

You might want to drive to your inn and then explore the beautiful scenery areas from there, such

as

Sonoma Coast and Armstrong Redwoods.

If you want to see something more scenic on the drive instead of 101, consider seeing Tomales Bay and possibly lunch at

(if you like oysters).

For wineries nearby, consider the ones on Westside Road/Healdsburg ara

It goes between Guerneville and Healdsburg.

Armstrong Redwoods, for sure! And the Sonoma coast (Point Reyes, Jenner).

Applewood Inn is lovely, make time to just hang out on their grounds. On the night you're not eating there, we really liked Boon Eat/Drink along the main drag of Guerneville.

If you like gardens, Korbel Winery has a nice garden tour, twice daily.

There is a day trip from San Francisco which takes you up the coast from Bodega Bay and on to Guerneville and Armstrong Grove Redwoods. Since you are staying in Guerneville for two nights you can do wine tasting in the Redwood River area.

If you continue on the trip from here, it goes though the Sonoma Valley wine area and to the historic town of Sonoma, with tasting venues around the Plaza as well as wineries near town. Sonoma is only about 45 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.

The mileage is listed on this trip, so that you can plan your time.

Getting a driver will depend upon which area and which wineries you visit. There are hot springs and spa services near Sonoma, in Boyes Hot Springs at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn.

If you want more of Hwy 1 you can join it at Marin City, a few miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. It gos along the cliffs for awhile, but then goes inland, skirts Tomales Bay and does not come back out to the coast until Bodega Bay. This is why I suggest going to Petaluma on Hwy 101, about 45 minutes and then cutting over to Bodega Bay...on a pretty pastoral drive of about 23 miles.
