Please recommend San Clemente or Del Mar for New Year's

We have 4 days over New Year's holiday for a brief visit to Southern California. Please give your recommendation for choice between San Clemente or Del Mar, and if you have any knowledge of the Hilton or Hampton Inns there. We will have a car for local transportation. Thank you.

Del Mar is a SanDiego suburb along the shore. The prob is that the Hilton is located on a freeway ramp and the Hampton Inn is located outside the Del Mar city limits along the highway leading to SanDiego.

Soooo I'd suggest staying in SanDiego at our downtown bayfront Embassy Suites, which I believe is also a Hilton property. IF you have not visited SanDiego then

come and see what we have to offer.

We thought San Clemente was gorgeous when we spent the afternoon surfing there over this past 4th of July weekend. The beach is beautiful and there is a pier, you will be close to Laguna Beach where I would suggest checking out. Have a nice time in Southern CA, it's a beautiful area to spend time in! :)
