I am trying to decide between the Loews and the Marriotte. It is clear that both have their merrites, but also some cons. The added cost of parking is about the same in both. Is their any way to avoid parking fees at either one of these two?

1. Re: parking

There is no way to avoid the parking fees at Loew's as it is located on an isolated peninsula (down the Strand). Parking fee is just a part of staying there. Technically, you COULD avoid the fee at the Marriott by parking on the street. Street parking is often tough to find around the hotel, though, as it is near the hospital and an apartment building.
