L'Auberge or Tickle Pink Inn

Planning on spending 1 to 2 nights in Carmel late August, early Sept. Have stayed at L'Auberge and LOVED it. I am all about trying new properties. How does Tickle Pink compare?

Others can tell you more about their experience at Tickle Pink, as I've never stayed there. But are you aware of the difference between the two locations? As you know, L'Auberge is right in town and you can walk everywhere. Tickle Pink is in the Carmel Highlands, about 10 minutes south of Carmel on Hwy 1. Tickle Pik has gorgeous ocean views from up high on a hill, but the only place you can walk to is the Hyatt (Highlands Inn) next door, which has two restaurants. For everything else you want to do, you have to drive. So, a lot depends on the kind of experience you want. If you want something romantic and more-secluded, Tickle Pink would be a great choice.

I think the Tickle Pink Inn looks terrific, but if you are going in August (even late August), the views may not be as great during this time of year. The marine layer (fog) may obscure those fabulous views. Sometimes it burns off where you can see the ocean and the sky. Sometimes it just hangs around.

We love TPI and have stayed there 3 times. They offer many nice amenities. We had a lovely day in Carmel today with warm, sunny weather for the pool and beach. Dinner at Pacific's Edge was great, also. :).
