winery tours in the carmel area

I will be in Carmel for a couple of days in mid September. I would like to visit several wineries in the area and take private tours if possible. Any suggestions?

If you want a private wine tour, your hotel concierge would be your best bet. If you are staying in a smaller place, they should have brochures covering various tours, etc. BTW, Sept is a lovely month on the coast.

Thanks - I am actually looking for the names of wineries that I can call and arrange for a private tour.

Check Chateau Julien or Bernardus, two of my favorite places in Carmel Valley. If you're looking for a place to have a nice meal, Wickets at the Bernardus Lodge is very good. Enjoy your wine tasting, the area produces some very nice Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

This are the wineries I know about in Carmel Valley.

Joullian has tours.

Chateau Julien has tours, medium wine

Bernardus has wine tasting room, not sure about tours.

Talbott has wine tasting room, not sure about tours

Galante has tours, very good wine.

Must call for tours on all wineries.

Other lunch suggestions: Casual, Cafe Rustica, Corkscrew Cafe
