Anniversary trip November

Was planning to go to San Francisco and Carmel the first week of November. Looking for opinions on whether I should rethink the trip with current wildfire situation. Thanks in advance.

Neither Carmel nor San Francisco is a location of the current fires. Nor are they near enough the fires to be considered at risk.

Well, smoke in SF might be a factor if the fires aren't under control by then.

Air quality in San Francisco is an issue today.

They are making substantial progress on areas of the fire although very difficult again today due to winds last night.

This is mid October.

You are coming in November.

Right now, they project the fires should be much more contained than today.

This will help substantially with air quality for San Francisco.

Carmel will be OK

At this point, I would just continue with your plans as your trip is far enough out.

Stay tuned - but I would not worry about it at this point.

Carmel would be fine. There is alot of explore in this area! Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, are all close by and offer lots of beautiful scenery. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a first-class attraction where you could spend an afternoon. www.carmelcalifornia.com :)

Congratulations on your anniversary! Both Mini and syrahgirl have great information. San Francisco should be fine by then, but if you want to hedge your bets, then come south to the Monterey Peninsula. There are myriad things to do, from the romantic to the outdoor-driven. Carmel and surrounding areas are definitely NOT citified, but they have a charm and quaintness that is very unique. I'm sure we'd all have specific suggestions if you need them - don't hesitate to ask.

How was your trip to Carmel? We are in the area now, enjoyed a wonderful meal by the fire at Little Napoli last night. :)
