Which Best Western

I have Best western points and can't decide between the Cambria or the San Simeon hotel. We want to visit Hurst castle. How long is the driving time from Cambria to Hurst Castle. This will be at the end of January.

Thanks for any advise.

Both are very nice, the San Simeon properrty is oceanfront and has very pretty grounds. Since you're going to Hearst, I would stay there. :)

It is a very short drive from Cambria up to Hearst Castle! I'd say maybe 10min.at the most. Cambria is a nice town with good restaurants and cute shops. IF you stay at the San Simeon property you'd end up driving into Cambria to eat anyway because San Simeon is not really a town. It has a post office and a great sandwich place near it but that's about all.

I'd take whichever hotel gives you the most for your money! The whole area is very nice!

Both are two thumbs up properties.

The BW Cavalier is on the water and has a restaurant on site. Additional dining at Manta Rey or El Chorlito.

The BW Fireside Inn is across the street from Cambria's pretty coastline where a wooden path allows for a pleasant morning or evening sunset walk. No restaurant on site.

Cambria and San Simeon Acres are literally 5 minutes or less apart from each other. Cambria is a MUCH prettier area, though.

We spent part of our honeymoon at the BW Cavalier Inn in San Simeon more than 41 years ago -- property is much larger now. Lots of good memories, and it's so nice to fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves. We've stopped by for lunch at their restaurant from time to time since then. As mentioned, Cambria is just minutes away -- no big deal to drive there for meals.

Either are nice. if you go with the one in Cambria, see if you can get the room that is ocean front with a fireplace. Nice room - spacious and easy walk to the ocean.

However, both are good Best Westerns. Enjoy your visit.
