Driving from Monterey to LA

Planning a wonderful family trip to Cali in mid-June. Visiting family in San Fran area for a couple of days then heading south. Staying one night in Monterey and have one night booked in Cambria before heading south to visit more family. Had planned on making the lovely drive down Hwy 1 now I am not sure what to do because of road closure. Still want to do the drive thru Big Sur and see Pfeiffer, etc., but then not sure the best way to do Cambria. Should we skip this lower portion of the scenic drive and just concentrate on northern end. Or is there a reasonable way to do both? Thanks for any advise.

Hi Kibblesmom

Thanks for the article. It seems like they are working 24/7 to get it open.

As I am reading my California map going north on 101 from 46 would we go NW just north of Bradley, ending up just south of Lucia on Hwy 1?

I will check in daily with the Cambria forum to keep up-to-date.
