2 nights cambria or Paso Robles

We are travelling down Big Sur to Cambria, and we have allotted 1 full day for this, with overnight Cambria. The following day we are doing Randolph Hearst in the morning.

Now the question is, do we have another night in Cambria and travel following morning to Paso Robles for one night. OR do we travel to Paso Robles after seeing Hearst Castle and have two nights in Paso Robles. We can't have two nights in both places. What is your opinion. Cheers Angie

Stay two nights in Cambria. Paso is less than an hour away, and it's very inconvenient to pack up and move to a new hotel every day.

Agree with scooterboss.

Not worth packing up to stay 25 minutes away from Cambria.

Cambria is pretty by the ocean...close to Paso Robles. Its also closest to Hearst castle. I would also vote for another night in Cambria.

depending on the time of year, Paso Robles can be down right hot! Cambria is much cooler.

Cambria for sure and you want to stay at Moonstone Beach. The Fog Catcher Inn & Blue Dolphin Inn are great, the Sand Pebbles Inn and Best Western are also nice.

I wonder why you want to spend two nights in either Cambria or Paso Robles.

I would leave after my morning tour of Hearst Castle and go to Santa Barbara for the night. It is only 138 miles. This is a lovely city, Spanish Colonial style with a magnificent courthouse, a mission, etc.

I do have to say that Santa Barbara is mind-blowing as a tourist destination. We just went up on a day trip and were pretty amazed at how it just continues to get better. Not only are there surrey, bike and kayak rentals, but the trolley and the electric shuttle both get you around town - and what great new shops and boutiques they have.

Stearns Wharf was way-crowded though, which is why we usually book on to Cambria instead.

Where you going after that night? North or south?

We opted for 2 nightsCambria and one night Paso. First because we want to spend some beach time as well as drive time and second because we want a bed for the night inPaso after all the wine tasting. Then on to Yosemite. Thanks for all suggestions. Cheers Angie
