I'd suggest asking your question in the main California forum - many more people will see it and answer you. You'll also want to read the FAQ's in the California forum - there is a lot of information there about the LA/SF drive. Beverly Hills is a relatively small, though affluent, city in the Los Angeles area, which is but one of your stops.

Now, this certainly depends on your priorities but you've listed 6 towns for an overnight stop, which leaves you only 4 nights to split between the large San Francisco area and the very large Los Angeles area. So if you want a chance to really get a feel for those two major cities, you'd want to perhaps reverse this, so that you have 6 nights to split in the cities and 4 nights to do the drive, or 5/5.

People often do the drive in only 3 nights, staying in Monterey OR Carmel, then Cambria, and then Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, or Santa Barbara. I would probably do this and spend a 4th night in Santa Cruz.

Carmel and Monterey are right next to each other and the overall area is not large. Its a great area to spend more than one night if you have the time, but even if you only have one night here you'll be able to see a lot here.

If you go to the main California forum, you'll see this question is asked often and there is a Top Question about it. However, few do this over such a long stretch of time. I would take a look at the California Forum posts (there are many). But don't miss Santa Barbara, Big Sur, and Carmel/Monterey
