The owners are actually a Peruvian family - the guy from the UK just helps out with the website etc.

Great place though! Real Peruvian experience.

We were in the north for two months and stayed at Casa Mirita every time we came through Cajamarca. We loved it Casa Mirita. While great for the budget traveller, Casa Mirita meets all the needs of the more discerning tourist as well (well maintained and nicely decorated house, bedside lamps, thick towels, real hot water in the shower, wifi, laundry service for an additional fee) We were particularly drawn back to the lovely company of Mirita and Vicky, and to Mirita's great cooking. Vicky even speaks English. We did not mind the 10 minute ride in a mototaxi to this much quieter neighborhood with much less air pollution, in fact we loved seeing a different part of Cajamarca that way. Vicky works for the government tourist information, has lots of knowledge and is very helpful.
