Thank you bob k

Has this been the best rate in years ?

You will get better exchange rates here. Don't change your money in the states before your trip

question, if $ US are accepted in DR why would you change to pesos? is there some convenience or advantage to the peso?

If you are off the resort you will get better prices if using pesos. If you have no plans to leave the resort (which would be too bad) then USD is just fine.

Using USD in a country whose currency is the Peso is the best way to overpay. In most areas away from the resorts and away from tourist areas you cannot even use USD. Even then you will be overpaying and rounding.

As Bob said, if you are staying on the resort and not leaving (too bad) it doesn't matter.

Also, it is predicted by some that we will see a 50 to 1 rate over the next year or so. 45 is in sight for sure. The problem is that goods are inflating and making the cost of living very difficult. All the staples are rising in price and gas is out there.
