What's special in Tagaytay?

How much time do I need in Tagaytay? Is 1/2 a day enough? Right now, my list of things to see:

Taal Volcano (has anyone gone up to the top? worth it?)

Flower Farm

Palace / People's Park in the Sky (some said this is a waste of time)

City Market (optional... seen enough markets)

Mushroom Burger

Is there anything I should add or take off my list?

Usually a day trip is enough (if you are coming from Manila), but if you are going to the Taal Volcano then that will probably take half day since you need to ride a small boat. So overnight accomodation is recommended. I haven't really been there but they said that if you are going to hike there, don't take the donkey.

Palace in the sky is just ok, nothing too special. I would add to my list Picnic grove, there's an eco-trail there and ziplining. I've seen some youtube videos of the ziplining, seems a bit slow but it's something to try.

For a great view of Taal volcano, you can go to the Taal Vista Lodge and there's no entrance fee :)

hope this helps

As stated above, you can easily spend half your day going up Taal Volcano. You can allot a whole day for Tagaytay, or better yet, stay overnight so you'll be more relaxed.

You might also want to visit the place of the Good Shepherd Sisters. It's a nice, serene place and you can buy freshly made jams or peanut brittle -- these are quite popular even among locals.

People's Park in the Sky is so-so. Nothing to write home about. :)

Hope that helped.

Is Taal Vista Lodge the same as Taal Vista Hotel?

I heard that unlike before, only guests of the hotel are allowed in the area for the view of Taal. Is this true and if yes I wonder how they implement that.

Haven't been there for years.
