I'm looking for some advice from experts, so of course I came here. :)
My wife and I are considering a last-minute vacation this July as it is our 10-year anniversary, and I'm pushing for CR, and specifically Dominical. I've found some great rentals offering the type of experience we're looking for, and activities abound. I've got her 80% convinced, but the problem is the weather, or potential weather.
We're looking for a trip where we can do a couple of days of activities, while on alternate days we lay about by the pool reading, relaxing and sun-tanning. I know it's the green (read: rainy) season in July, but I'm not 100% sure what that entails. I've never been to CR, but in some other locations this means that once a day it rains for a few hours in the afternoon, but the rest of the time it's sunny and warm.
Now I know that there's never any guarantee on weather, but I'm looking at the 14-day forecast, and historical data. It isn't helping my cause any, with clouds and rain for the next 14 days and an average of 4 hours of sun per day for July.
Can anyone give me a realistic description of what to expect if/when we go for the dates above? What is "cloudy" like at this time of year? When/how much rain can we reasonably expect? What are the odds that this 'dream' vacation will be a let-down because of the weather?
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
