Thanks RedRox.....They all seem nice but will it give us a real look at Sedona....Like I said there will be 6 of us..would a bed and breakfast give us a more personal feel??? Any suggestions on bed and breakfast that can hold 6 ? Thanks again
If you want to get a feel for Sedona, focus on what you'll do during the day, not where you'll sleep. How many nights are you staying? B&B rooms generally sleep 2. Most B&Bs in Sedona have 3 or more rooms, but you might need to bump your budget. Not necessary IMO as you're better off sleeping cheap and spending on meals and a tour or two. Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour is the best investment you'll make.
We've stayed in the Matterhorn, Cozy Cactus Bed & Breakfast, Kokopelli Inn, and Desert Quail Inn. The Cozy Cactus is our very favorite. If you check them out, keep in mind that their prices include a great breakfast and all taxes.
The views are incredible. We also enjoyed the Matterhorn and it is easy walking distance to the Pink Jeep Tours. The views are also quite nice. The Desert Quail Inn probably had the best value and the Kokopelli Inn was just ok.
Obviously, we love Sedona and just keep coming back! Enjoy and please report back!Edited: 9:46 pm, December 21, 2013
Hello....We are arriving at Pheonix in the am on May 31 thinking of driving to Sedona staying in Sedona for the afternoon/night than travel to Page the next day to explore Antelope Canyon than off to meet family at Grand Canyon national park. Thanks to Redrox and Bannda for suggestions for lodging and pink jeep tours does any one see if we are missing key points of trip.?.Thanks
So you only have one night for Sedona and one night for Page? That's very short esp because there are many nice places between Sedona and Page like Flagstaff, Walnut Canyon, Sunste Crater Volcano, Wupatki and Camron Trading Post. Also lots of places to see and things to do in Page like len Canyon dam, Lake Powell, Horseshoe bend and Colorado River raft. If you want to do the Pink Jeep tour in Sedona (and visit more places) and also Colorado Riverraft you'll need a minimum of 2 nights Sedona and 2 nights Page.
Given the minimal amount of time you have planned for Sedona, and Page for that matter, where you stay means nothing. Do the 2 hour Pink Jeep tour at Sedona as mentioned. Spend the rest of your time self touring. See the Chapel of the Holy Cross and Red Rock Crossing. You won't get a feel for Sedona. You'll barely get a taste.
How much time do you have planned for the Grand Canyon National Park?
Given the unfortunate of short stay in Sedona (arrive at noon) May 31 thinking of staying at Desert Quail Inn and taking the trolley that afternoon and waking up next morning and taking the Antelope tour out of Sedona before heading to Grand Canyon park to meet up with rest of family. Thoughts..(Great idea of jeep tour but might be to much for my mother of 78 years old)
There are 2 Antelope Canyons in Page. Upper will be easier for your mother. Lower requires steps and ladder climbing. But to the entrance of Upper a truck will bring you there via a rather bumpy ride.
Antelope Canyon is at Page, AZ, 3 hours away from Sedona. Then it's another 3 hours back to the Grand Canyon National Park from there. You won't see Sedona at all. And you'll be spending most of your time in the car. Skip Antelope Canyon. Give Sedona the extra day and you MIGHT just get a feel for it.
