Is the Village of Oak Creek really a village

I am trying to get a sense of what the VOC is like. Here in England a village is a pretty, small place with a few shops and a couple of pubs, but I am guessing the "Village" of Oak Creek is not like that. Is it walkable, is it quiet, does it have shops and good restaurants, are these all near to each other, can you take a stroll around in morning and get a cup of coffee on a pavement café - is it like this at all or am I on the wrong track.

Thanks Bannda that is very encouraging, Cozy Cactus sounds delightful. And RedRox I looked on the web at the history of Sedona and the lady you mentioned, certainly a very colourful and glamorous story. Will read more and try to capture the famous photo used in TWA advertising.

Just to add a little bit, Bell Rock is in the Village, and the Scenic Byway runs through here and on to Sedona. Sedona is just 6 miles away, and it's a beautiful drive. The Village has some shops, a few restaurants and coffee shops, and the vibe is pretty relaxed.

I'm liking the sound of this more and more. Just one more quickie - am I right to think it would be quite a lot less driving time from VOC to Phoenix, as we wouldn't have to do the drive up into Sedona proper?

Certainly more of a village than Sedona is...in the sense that you can walk around there without taking your life in your hands trying to cross a highway.

VOC is 6 miles south of Uptown Sedona. When driving to PHX this will save you about 10 minutes
