SedonaMTB,

Is it worthwhile to go to Out of Africa Wildlife Park and also would it be too hot during midday? I live around Tampa, FL and we have Busch Gardens here that has an African theme--would it be similar to that?

A wonderful list of things to do. Thanks for posting it. I'm sure too that hotels and the Chamber of Commerce will be going out of their way to help people be creative with their time.

As for Out of Africa - we did that in December and loved it. I would go early to avoid the heat of the day, or late afternoon if you prefer to be there for feeding time. I think they have done a wonderful job in this new location and it is not at all far from Sedona so you can make this a day trip.

We are not gamblers, but we have stopped for lunch at the Cliff Castle Casino in the Gallery Restaurant and have been quite pleased with the food, prices and service.

Also not far away is Camp Verde where you can visit the historic military post at Fort Verde State Park.

Bump ----- wow , worth another look -- good job. Hope the fires are out soon so these folks can experience these trhings. I might add that, Sliderock Park at the north end of town is good old-fashion fun for the young as is, hiking at the red rocks like Cathedral Rock (among others) --and--although definitely worth the trip, I think Monument Valley (my favorite place in all of Arizona--I think MV is the "real" vortex --spend some time there, you'll see what I mean) is a little bit more than just a day trip --- this eastern-side area is worth at least a few days in itself combined w/ Canyon de Chelley , the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. The more you look , the more you realize that Arizona is an incredibly diverse and beautiful place.

103 thing to do, hike your brains out. All the trails are open except for a few obscure one.

104 things - hire a harley and ride at least a small section of Route 66. I never managed it when I visited and it's my biggest regret.

Oh, please don't rent a Harley. The noise is harassing so many locals. We're getting ready to set and enforce a noise ordinance like Jerome. Many little towns in northern Arizona are having financial problems because the harley crowd doesn't spend any money and they chase away all the people who do. I could go on. These guys with loud bikes are actually devistating our rural area. ATV's are doing the same.

There is a reason they were left off the list and it wasn't my doing!

I agree Sedona MTB about the Harley's. I never understood why people enjoy interupting beautiful, peaceful places of the earth by having the need to plow through them with loud, obnxious Harley's.

I would like to second #81. Take a day trip to Jerome.

There visit or stay in the Gran Hotel. Have a lunch at The Asylum, the wonderful restaurant in the hotel. Dinner is possible too at a higher price.

Buy chocolate fudge at Copper Country Fudge.

Stroll through the many interesting shops. Buy a ceramics piece or a piece of jewelry.

Really a revived ghost town.
