I know this is asked quite a bit but I'm going to ask again.....

Two mid 30s couples heading there in a few weeks...enjoy luxury but not over the top expensive. No kids with us. Guys playing golf at TPC, girls lounging poolside. We like service, some action, not complete ghost town but also are there for some R&R......suggestions on where we should stay?

A few weeks away will still be August and it will still be very hot (in the 100s) so even your pool time will be limited. Stay wet and drink plenty of water, avoid overheating. This time of year there are some great summer bargains so look at the Fairmont Princess next to the TPC and close to Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland Commons for shopping and dining. Also right there is the Westin Kierland. Both are very popular with families but they both have adult pools and great spas as well. Valley Ho and Sanctuary, also Omni Montelucia are lovely. Valley Ho is downtown and close to innumerable clubs and pubs in the Old Town neighborhood. Firesky is also downtown and has a pretty pool area.

Is Valley Ho walking distance to downtown shopping and fun stuff?
