Parking at Nogales

If we plan to "walk" accross to Nogales, MX, how close can you normally park. One of your party has a bad knee and is limited.

thanks

Parking just across the street from McDonald's Restaraunt to your right as you come into Nogales, Arizona. There is a gentleman waving an orange flag obviously telling the public there is parking available. Parking at least at $4.00?

If you take your parking ticket stub to McDonald's you get a free drink courtesy of the "Al's Parking Lot?".....

In fact, the Parking lot is situated just under the US-Mexico Border Fence.....where your just less than a block from the border entrance gate.

Unfortunately it is not really safe to visit Nogales Sonora right now. Drug violence has increased, and there's nothing there worth a stray bullet.

Can't be any more dangerous than north of the border.

This was printed in the local Tucson paper last week: "Unprecedented levels of drug-related violence in Nogales, Sonora, have landed the border city on the U.S. State Department's "travel alert" list alongside notoriously dangerous cities such as Ciudad Juarez, Tijuana and Nuevo Laredo." This was prompted by the latest round of daytime violence in the streets of Nogales. Check the state dept. web site for updates.
