Beavers ? where are they ?

Have read a couple of articles about being able to view the beavers and the dams they make but it was part of a several day long tour in Patagonia/Ushaia.

We will only have 5 - 6 hours in Ushaia before embarking on a cruise and would like to either see Terra Del Fuego /maybe with trrain/ ? timetables for this train? but would consider the beavers as we dont have them here to see. Any information or web site would be great thanks Ann

The best way to see the Tierra del Fuergo National Park is to hire a driver with a car at the dock when you disembark from your cruise. There will be many at the docks. The driver will take you to see the damms and the beavers(they are destroying the trees with these damms). In addition, you'll be able to see other areas of the park which you cannot see with the train.

You will see more with the driver versus taking the train ride. The train ride is a short trip in only one part of the park and to be honest with you not worth it;unless of course you are a big train buff. So if you want to get to the train, you will have to get a driver to take you there anyway unless you are on a cruise ship tour.

The highlights of the park with the driver will take you around 4 hours thenif you want to add a visit to the glacier with the chairlift then it's possible.

Enjoy!!
