Whiskey lover in search of glaciers for ice with baby in tow

We are planning on heading to Calafate in Nov with our 13-month old daughter. We unfortunately can't do the Mini-trek or Big Ice with a young child.

Is there another place/way we could chip ice off the glaciers for whiskey, etc...?

Are there places where we could just hike up to the the edge of a glacier?

Willing to hire a private tour guide if needed to access less common areas as it seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Not to burst your bubble about glacier ice, but despite countless urban myths and misconceptions there's nothing special about it.

That said, if you wanted to chip some off "just for fun" to throw into a drink I hope you find a safe place that's accessible.

Good luck and have fun!

Cheers,

Terry
