Argentina december

hi . We are a family of 6 youngest being 14. We thought of itenary as follows:

Into Ba on 16 dec then straight to El Calafate on 17 Dec . Will 2 days be enough? Fly 19 dec to Bariloche. We want to river raft and the guys spend 2 days fishing. Not sure if there is enough to keep us busy until the 24th. To buenos aires from 24 to 1 Jan. Is this too long in Ba? Any specific suggestion on where to stay. Close enough to be the activities but not noisy that u can't sleep. Would love somewhere where the kids could do their own thing or is it unsafe (.14,15,17 and 18 years). Thx

In El Calafate you need two full days , for that reason ussually you need three nights.. One day to visit the Perito Moreno Glaciar and the lake around it , and another day to visit the other glaciars in a lake sightseen. In Bariloche there are many places to go/visit. You will be busy up to 24th. Buenos Aires is very big city, There are many places to visit.

I agree with all-ba about El Calafate and Bariloche. In Buenos Aires I suggest to keep looking for an hotel around Palermo neighborhood. Its a good place for teenagers. Please take care about weather: it is cold at night in El Calafate but it is very very hot in Buenos Aires.

Finding a place that is quiet is the hard part. That will be up to the apartment/hotel that you choose.

I agree with all_ba, Palermo sounds like a good choice for you.

Not quiet, but there are streets that are more residential and family oriented and less traffic. They love to honk their horns here and everything is open late, on weekends clubs and restaurants can be open all night, so the quiet at night part of your planning will take a bit of research. We can help you with that.

Recoleta is also quiet and residential, a family neighborhood, museums, parks and a big feria on weekends.. so look there also.

Weatherwise- Christmas in Buenos Aires is like Christmas in the US South .. hot , can be humid, very sunny.

Wherever you are from, be sure that you and the kids have plenty of protection and sunblock, light summer clothing.
