Oludeniz in June....

Hi guys,

Just booked our holiday to the Grand Taner for mid June! We can't wait. Had a look at some other hotels, but Taner Hotel seemed very nice, good price and quiet enough for our liking.

I thought I'd ask you for some help with things to do. We're an active couple in our late twenties. We enjoy boat trips and various excursions. Can anyone recommend any trips whilst we're out there? We're there for a week only, but looking for a few things to keep us entertained :-)

Any other tips or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Daf

hi daf you will love olu deniz. we really enjoyed visiting Kayakoy by horseback, an old village that once occupied Turkish-Cypriots, now called the ghost town, the trip was about £12 each and lasted approx 4 hours in total, was a really enjoyable day out... we also did a boat trip but we didnt go with the advice off here much to our regret we chose a different boat and the day was spoilt. the boat that most reccomend on here is called the cherry tree... includes bbq lunch, wish we had of booked it instead of the pegas boat we went on. matt

Plenty of boat trips - we;ve been on them out of Olu and travelled over to get one from Fethiye - great value and some lovely places. We just found it easier to board at Fethiye.

We also enjoyed the trip to Saklikent - the gorge to Tlos etc which was nice and as suggested above Kayakoy. Jump on the Dolmus to Fethiye to go to the market and wander around at your own free will (better than being on a timed trip)

We also enjoyed a trip to Dalyan - not so much the mud baths, but the trip down the river to the beach was lovely!

Ah, been a few years since we last went - can't wait to return!

If you're an active couple then you have to do the paragliding whilst you're there!. You can go quad biking, horse riding, microlighting etc etc

Boat trips are really good value and we really enjoyed Saklikent Gorge/Tlos.

So much to do, you'll have to book another week!

The Taner is a nice little hotel in a good location, far enough away from any noise but only a couple minutes stroll to the centre and the beach.

You can book before you arrive with a few of the Trips people, Carole and Tayfun get good reviews and if you book 2 trips before 20th February you get two free!! Even if you don't want to book now you can get a good idea of what trips are available on their website....

Hi, if you can fit these in a week.

Jeep safari is a must do.

Boat trips (from Oludeniz itself and one from Fethiye, if you only have time for one- probably best to do the Fethiye one as you will get the chance to see Fethiye, the harbour and the surrounding mountains scenery etc- but both are fab and cheap).

Paragliding- just do it!

Thank everyone for your advice. I've had a look at caroletayun.com and there seems to be a few things they have we want to do. Would you book in advance and get the extra 2 trips for free? Or is it too much of a risk to book so far in advance and best to book when you get there? One trip we really want to do is the Saklikent to Tlos. It seems like an amazing trip - has anyone done this trip?

Last thing, we're heading to Oludeniz in mind June. What are the chances of us seeing any turtles? We've heard Dalyan is a good place to see them - is this the right time of year?

Thanks again for your help! Can't wait to go now :-)
