Mavruka Hotel - Booked August 2010

Hi All

Finally made a decision on hotel and have booked the Mavruka for the middle two weeks in August (sometimes too much info can boggle the mind!) Read all the reviews - good & bad and felt this best suited our needs. Would love to hear anything about the hotel or if anyone else has booked their hotels yet.

Hi Ayse 17

We have booked first 2 weeks in July @ the Perdikia Beach Hotel in Olu Deniz. Stayed there last year and loved the place. Think it's just along the road from the Mavruka.

Good to have the holiday booked isn't it. Gives us something to look forward to during the cold, dark days of winter.

hi

Stayed in Mavruka for week last year. Hotel is spotless and rooms are large by Turkish standards. Not overmuch entertainment in hotel but great for relaxing thru day and makes great base for Olu. Breakfasts not bad for the area and usual bar snacks quite nice. Never had evening meal except on 'Turkish Night', which was rather good. Owner of hotel also owns Tower Hotel (which I've also stayed in) and must agree with other Reviewers he can come across as a miserable B***** LOL!!. Actually not so bad if you try speaking to him and is not a bad Tabls Tennis player.

Have stayed in many Olu Hotels over the last nine years and for rooms and facilities this is probably the best but it does lack character tho that may have developed. Lovely hotel, makes great base but would advise stay B&B as Hotel not somewhere you could happily spend all holiday.

Hope this helps.

Ayse, sometimes you just have to go for it so good on you. As you say sometimes too much info can be too much to handle. I always say try it yourself and go with the glass half full - just try not to spill it!

It looks from the outside a lovely place as we have passed it many times.

Its close to everything, beach and strip but far enough away from any noise at night if you want a quiet moment.

It would be high on my list if I changed my usual staying place.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies, from the comments so far looks like we made a decent' ish choice!

Openwide88 we also stayed at the Perdikia Beach late July this year and really enjoyed it but found the family rooms a little too small. The Mavruka is next door and we did have a little peek and the rooms were huge in comparison and modern. As others have said, nobody can fault the rooms at the Maruka but many have commented that it does appear to be lacking in atmosphere . But hey ho, we spend hardly any time in the hotels prefering to go to the beach, days out and will always eat out at night. Only time will tell!

9 months to go!!

Ayse :)
