Wasps - again - but slightly different question!!

Hi everyone, off to Sun City next May and really looking forward to it first time to Turkey too, the only thing that is worrying me now (after reading negative comments and then all the positive ones!!!!!) is the wasp situation. My hubby is not good with them at all in fact is shall we say terrified, so wanted to know are they around this resort all year?? and if so how can we avoid them?? As I think my OH may not want to go if it is too much of a problem.

Thanks for reading! Any advise gratefully received.

We were in Oludeniz in September and have to say that the only time we had the pleasure of their company was at meal times - more so in the evening. Did a few trips and excursions, including a most enjoyable day cruise & jeep safari and weren't bothered by them at all then or when out and about. A good squirt of Skin so Soft Body Oil (green coloured bottle) on all exposed parts terrified them!

We were there August/September and I don't remember seeing a single one. Been to Oludeniz for many years and never had a problem with wasps at all.

Maybe I'm the lucky one and its cos the mossies like me instead ;-)

Some intersting facts about wasps.

a) At any one time around 40% of wasps are drunk on the fermented food they eat ( that's why sometimes the buzz is a bit slurred )

b) They hate images of Elvis Presley.

c) They don't go under water.

d) They don't like country and western music.

e) Their bite is far less dangerous than a sharks.

Therefore it's simple...

dress up as Elvis and go scuba diving with a Jim Reeves CD playing loudly on a waterproof ghetto blaster,

some interesting facts about sharks...

a) They are attracted from miles away to country and western music.

b) They hate Elvis Presley even more than wasps.

c) They live under water

We were at Sun City May this year and can't remember seeing many wasps at all, if any.

We are going back 4th-25th May 2009, getting married out there on lagoon, can't wait!

Just occured to me now...more amazing facts

A shark has never attacked a wasp.

A wasp has never stung a shark.

Maybe some species of shark evolved and grew wings, became stripey and became much smaller in size and hey presto....the wasp was born.
