Hello : Merhaba

Thank you : Teşekkür ederim (teshekur ederim) or sağol (easier and to be pronounced saol stressing the a)

Actually you can find to basic things in any guide book about Turkey or on this website

turkeytravelplanner.com/details/…index.html

Good luck and happy travel in Turkey

Merhaba Dawnlee!

Goodmorning you say 'günaydin'

See you later: sonra gürüsürüs

Good afternoon: iyi aksamlar

Good night: Iyi geceler

Welcome: Hos geldiniz (s with french cedilla so say sh)

When you are welcomed like this you answer

Hos bulduk as a thank you.

Goodbey: iyi günler like in have a nice day, or hosca kal (both s and c with the 'dot' under)

And the easiest way to say thank you is 'merci' like the french do. To add a lot 'cok merci', a bit informal, like 'sag ol'.

Have a nice trip! Iyi yolculuklar!

Then you say Iyiyim Tessikur Ederim

Iyi Aksamlar (ee ee akshamlar) Good evening

gunaydin(goon i doon) Good morning

Bir beyaz sarap lutfen (beer bayaz sharap lootfen( one white wine please

Cok guzel (Chok goozel) Very good

Bir daha (Beer dahah) one more

Hos geldiniz (Hosh geldineez) Welcome

Is such a hard language to learn but if you want anymore words let me know and i will try to help

Thanks for that Faye I didnt really have a clue with the pronunciation thats a great help. We have finally decided on hotel Xanadu, but it was a hard choice there seem to be so many hotels in Turkey that get great reviews, hope we have made the right decision.
