Thanks Hatter, there seems so much to choose from on the garden route that we are now considering whether or on to stay longer in each place and less time back in capetown ie 4-5 days instead of 7. We shall be staying 2 nights in capetown before we head for Franchoek but the first night will be quite tired as we are flying overnight.

Hi Patricia1. In my opinion 4 or 5 days is sufficient for seeing Cape Town city. You are staying in the wine region later on, and will have lots of time to relax in the quieter towns on the Garden route, so its only the major sites of Cape Town that you will need to cover in those days.

Maybe you should write down what you would like to do in Cape Town, allocate how long it will take, and then see if you will be able to fit it all in? That way you will see if it will be a rush, or if you will have enough time to relax and enjoy it?

Which places on the Garden route are tempting you to stay longer?

Knysna and Mossell Bay are nice places to stopover.
