recommended travel agents

I'm trying to plan my honeymoon in Cape Town and Victoria Falls. Can anyone share recommendations/experiences with a travel agent? We're interested in finding someone who has experience planning vacations other than Safari. For example, we want to do shark diving, Robins Island, hike Table Mountain, visit Penguin Beach in Cape Town and do the gorge swing, raft, play with lion cubs, and do elephant back safari in Victoria Falls.

We are going to S. Africa in Jan. Booked through Janine at go2africa, worked out £1000 cheaper then booking in Uk. We are also staying at the Commador, which Janine got at a very good price, Go2africa has a very good sight. We are also doing Vic Falls and have chosen to stay in the Zambezi Sun , I now it is only 3 star, but has very good reviews. Janine has also booked the Garden route for us, really lovely accommadation, hope this helps Norma

Hello puertoricovacationer,

Most of the things you are planning in Cape Town are easilly organised via the internet. For cape town and surround you can try geocities.com/kingsbackpack/capetowntours.ht…

Penguin Colony can be done on a Cape Point Trip or just a drive to Simons Town and Back. There is another Penguin Colony at Bettys Bay on the way to Hermanus.

I do not know of any place in Cape Town wher you can play with lion cubs, but at Spier they have a Cheetah Outreach program where you get to be in a cage with a cheetah(adult or Cub depending if they have cubs)

How far are you going out of Cape Town? There is a bridge swing is near Mossel Bay 400km from Cape Town towards the Garden Route. There is also the Bungi Jump, which is the longest in the world 216m at the Bloukraans Bridge +-600km from Cape Town. There is also a bungi at Vic Falls.111m

The shark cage diving is in Gaansbaai and can be done as a day trip from Cape Town, leaving at 05h30 and returning at +-17h00. There is also accommodation there if you wish to stay over.

Do you want to hike Table Mountain by yourself or do you want a guide to hike with you? Remember Table Mountain is weather dependant and the same goes for Robben Island.

We just got back from Capetown + part of the garden route for our honeymoon and we booked through Go2Africa.com. They were really helpful. However for our travels, we rented our own car online and drove it ouselves as it was pretty easy to navigate. We just informed them of what pieces we wanted to do ourselves and which part we needed assistance from them. Their prices were pretty reasonable.

Some suggestions:

I would advise to purchase Robben Island tickets in advance as many people do get disappointed by not booking in advance. Shark Diving in Gansbaii - many suggest Marine Dynamics (they were a full day tour), due to limited time we went with a half day tour with another company which was most enjoyable (however, good to note that during South Africa summer, you will see great whites, but it is not their peak season). If you have time to visit the winery area and like wines, it is well worth going to Stellenbosch & Franschoek. Franschoek was very cute and the restaurants were fabulous!

Victoria Falls - we were unable to book due to our last minute planning... however, if booking in advance, we were able to find reasonable prices through Livingstone Airlines.

If you head out to Plett Bay area, I would suggest a nice romantic setting at Hog's Hollow where we had a very pleasant stay, and if the Hermanus/Gansbaii area : Whalesong Lodge

Good luck with your planning and with your wedding!
