garden route itinerary!

Travelling the garden route from capetown to Kariega in mid-july with 3 children...an 11yr old and twins of 10. We have 4 or 5 free days and need to book accomodation too. Any suggestions for accom or activities en route greatly appreciated! Boggled with the choices!

Thanks

Great activities for kids along the Garden Route would be Monkeyland/Bird of Eden, maybe Knysna Elephant Park or an ocean safari boat trip to see dolphins and whales in Plett, if they don't get sea sick.

Great accomodation for kids should be Tsitiskamma lodge near Storms River Mouth, which for itself is definitely a highlight on your way to Kariega!

Note that the drive from Capetown to the Garden Route is pretty long (5 hours or so) boring. Maybe plan a stop in between. Hermanus (using the R44, one of the most scenic drives you will find anywhere) or Swellendam (N2) or an inland detour using the R62 to Montagu or Oudtshoorn as stops. July you might get a nice warmish days on the Garden Route, but probably no beaching weather.
