Hotel in camps bay

Hi all,

we shall be arriving about 17:00 in Cape Town and by the time we have collected our car will be about 18:00, how long does it take to drive to Camps Bay and is the route safe enough if we are driving in the dark ( not sure what time it does get dark though), also any hotel recommendations in the area.

cheers

agy

What month? Makes a big difference in the time of sunset. As for the driving time, airport to Camps Bay - 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. If you're coming on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be so much easier.

Hi Aggy

It will get dark around 19:30. However no problem in driving this route even if it was dark. From the airport it is freeway as far as the city. At the big spaghetti junction as you come into the city take the left hand fork signposted De Waal Drive. Follow this into the city and then the signs, over Kloof Nek, to Camps Bay. Your accommodation will give you details of how to find them.

By this time of the evening the rush hour traffic will be starting to thin out. Should take no more than 40 mins max - 30 mins if you are lucky with the traffic, but it is never very heavy going in this direction.
