Best things to do in cape town for 4days???

I am travelling to Camps bay at the end of this week. Any ideas what are the best things to see and do in this short space. We were thinking of going shark cage diving? has anyone been? Any suggestions, of where to go and what to do, that would be great i you could let me know.

I am a bit long in the tooth to do do it but plenty of people seem to enjoy shark cage diving - main centre is Gansbaai - see - www.white-shark-diving.com also www.sharkcagediving.co.za for info.

What to do in Cape Town all depends on your interest but here are a few suggestion - sail to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela and others were imprisoned, very emotive - booking necessary.

Cable car up Table Mountain. Visit to the Aquarium on the V & A Waterfront. Day trip to the winelands, stunning scenery, wine tasting and good eating. Trip to the Cape Peninsular National Park, Cape Point/Cape of Good Hope etc. Go to Hermanus and see the whales, we were there a few days ago and got good sightings, you can also visit Stoney Point at Betty's Bay and visit the African Penguin Colony there. Simonstown and the penguins at Boulder Beach. Spier wine estate (near Stellenbosch) good wine, good food and a cheetah outreach centre where you can go in and stroke the cheetahs (for a fee). Visit Boschendal Wine Estate between Stellenbosch and Franschoek, arrive in time to buy a fantastic picnic basket and eat it under the oak trees, again stunning scenery. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Visit the V & A Waterfront and just wander around taking in the sights, shops, restaurants and bars. If you have a hire car you can drive yourself to all of these places and cover a surprising amount of ground.

Any particular interests in addition to the shark cage diving ? Might be able to make suggestions. We got back yesterday after yet anoth fantastic visit to SA.

Is Simon's Town/Boulder's Beach on the way to Cape Point?

You can go to Cape Point that way, just carry on on the road past Simonstown, Boulders and eventually you get the signs for Cape Point. There are several very large sculpture parks also an Ostrich farm on the route.

some ideas of things to do..........

http://capetownguide2010.googlepages.com/thingsnottomiss!

these are just my opinion...plus the page of "other cool things to do"...sorry did not want to write it all on here! there is so much you can do in 4 days.

The shark cage diving would take place 2 hrs drive from Cape Town...but sharks aren't always guaranteed...so keep that in mind!!.,,.a day in the winelands could be good too...not all about the wine. Boat trips from the Waterfront ..trip up Table Mountain has to be done. Abseil while your up there perhaps (worlds highest commercial..no experience required)...paragliding off lions head onto Camps Bay beach is popular too!

Enjoy
