Transport from Nelspruit airport to Kruger Gate

We're looking to book a holiday to South Africa and would like to spend a few days near Kruger Gate (at Protea hotel), we don't really want to self-drive and wondered whether it was possible to get a taxi/ public transport/ transfer from the airport to that area, if possible how long would that take and what would it cost?

Has anyone done that? We're hoping to go in October.

Thanks

Hiring a car for a few days will most probably be cheaper than a transfer to and from Kruger Gate. Furthermore you are flexible and not bound to the hotel, as there is nothing else around. You will from there without a car only be able to take part of guided tours only, rather costly, depending on the number of tours and people.

You could also have a look at Hazyview e.g, with lots of activities on offer, restaurants and plenty of accommodation ( www.travelbook.co.za ) .

From Hazyview you can do either guided trips into KNP or self-drive. The Blyde River Canyon is also something not to be missed.

Sorry, to answer your question:

It will take app. 1,5 hours (given your are talking about Nespruit MQP airport and not JHB)

the cost will be somewhere around the R600-800 per person one way. There are no taxis.

for transfer see www.safarisdirect.co.za
