Things to do in Durban

We're visiting Durban for 6 days at the end of june next year. This is to coincide with the Lions rugby tour.As you can imagine,an all male group are probably gonna have 1 or 2 soft drinks in the evenings!!!!!

What about the daytime though? I have seen there's a water park-is it warm enough that time of year? What about fishing trips? Anyone have any other suggestions with what we can do with our time? Safari's maybe-although none of us want an overnight tour.

We're open to pretty much anything,so any tips would be appreciated.

If you want a laugh go up to gateway shopping centre and try the Waverider. It's a surf simulator (although a tumble in the rapid wash cycle is more like it for most of us!). Ushaka (the water park) is on the beachfront and certainly warm enough for us brits in June. They also do surfing lessons from just out front in the sea or you can go hire sea kayaks and go for a paddle.

welcome to durban- depends where you have booked into. But the beachfront over this short time is a great place to spend the days(golden mile)...water is warm, surf good and there are lifeguards.

Ushaka(marine wordls/aquirium and great shops),Wilsons Whalf(fishing trip bookings),Bird parks,Golf courses,Sun Coast Casino, flea markets on sat and sunday very popular.A good short day trip including a great lunch is Tala Game reserve only 1 hour max out of durban. On this route you can do the Crocodile farms and snake parks as well as Zulu Dancing.Look at Valley of 1000 hills as well.

There are plenty taxis but the public system isnt recomended.Hiring a car if you want to travel is the best, but as I said if your on North Beach, you can walk to most places.(just watch your valuables at night)It should be a great game and Durbans Kings Park is the place to be for after match functions - so enjoy your soft drinks...80's nightclub, outer fields,Rovers Club....paryy ...party....and safe...
