Staying in Hotel for wedding in Jo'burg

Hi, Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay in around Sandton area that is safe. I have visited Jo'burg several times but have always stayed with friends. Have to go in May for a wedding so might only go for the weekend as not sure how I will feel on my own. any advice would be appreciated.

Pick any hotel you like, in Sandton.

Base your decision on convenience, proximity to transportation, and / or to the wedding venue, and your budget.

Many thanks for the advice Gavin. As I said I hasve been to Jo'Burg many times, however I do not drive and I know that public transport is not the best. Had an idea though, perhaps I could go on a Safari that picks up from Jo'burg/Sandton so no worries about transport.

We stayed at the Protea Balalaika in Sandton which I really liked - nice grounds, good place to relax, excellent breakfast &very friendly staff - prices reasonable too. After 3 nights, we had booked a Kruger safari with Nhongo Safaris for 4 days. They picked us up at 7am from the hotel and the experience was excellent -would thoroughly recommend.
