Advice prioritizing the following sights

Hi everyone!

With a limited amount of time in Johannesburg (one full day till night and a half day), I'm curious about your opinions of which sights I should see (I obviously can't see all on my list), and how I should schedule the full day and the half day available to me. I've shortlisted the sights/activities to the following:

1. Maropeng

2. Lesedi Cultural Tour

3. Apartheid Museum

4. Walk or drive around Sandton

5. Walk or drive around Rosebank

6. Lion Park

7. Any must sees you'd recommend?

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice!

Pardon my ignorance, but how different is the Origins Centre from Maropeng?

Also, is parking safe and readily available at the Apartheid Museum, Origins Centre, and the other sights mentioned above?

Thanks!

Maropeng is an interpretation centre, near ( not in) the Cradle of Humankind, built as a fake cave, to take the tourism pressure off the real thing ( Sterkfontein Caves .. the world"s longest ongoing palaeoanthropological dig)

It is aimed mainly at children. They do, however, sometimes have genuine Fossils on display. An hours drive from Johannesburg

The Origins Centre is a museum on campus, at Wits University, in Braamfontein ( part of Johannesburg)

It is a world class museum, which deals with the origins of man, and more especially, with the rock art, and spiritual beliefs of the Bushmen.

Parking is safe, and readily available at all the sites mentioned.

If you are interested in the origins of our species, I would highly recommend you book a tour with Palaeo Tours.

Check out their website:

Your contact there is Marianne Robertson

Enjoy your tour

If you are interested in the nature I recommend a open vehicle Game Drive in Pilanesberg early in the morning, visit Chameleon Craft Village on your way back and if you still have energy Lesedi Cultural village with buffet diner.

At least you experience the real nature and the culture. The Chameleon Village is the same crafts as Rosebank.

For the half day you can do the Apartheid museum.
