Schotia Orlando accomodation/Amakhala C - anyone tried this?

Hi,

We are staying at Addo x 2 nights, and deciding between Amakhala Carnavondale and Schotia Orlando - has anyone tried any of these accomodations?

Sorry, another question - we are flying into Port Elizabeth after 17+ hours of flying, and going into Addo the next day.

Anyone has suggestions on where to stay for 1 night in/near PE? Hopefully comfortable, restful, and <1000RAD/rm/night. Thanks.

I am writing from a point of view of vegetation and not of lodgings and accommodation.

Schotia is quite small, but it borders on Addo and they do some of their drives in Addo, which is great for people who haven't already been there.

Amakhala is slightly farther away and has different vegetation to Addo. It has a sand forest and a lovely valley with a river through it. The river is dammed and they run (very short) river cruises where you have a very, very good chance of seeing African Finfoot, a mega-tick for birders.

From a vegetation/animal point of view, I would choose Amakhala. From an accommodation/food point of you, I dont know.

Any B&Bs in either in Summerstrand or Humewood would be good.

If you want a hotel, the Courtyard Suites (City Lodge) are R1000 for 2. The Road Lodge (also City Lodge group) is next door and much more affordable at R400 for 2. These hotels are well located.

Thank you!! That was very helpful. We'll probably go for Amakhala then.
