Iberotel Lamaya or Resta Grande?

Hi looking to book a 2 week holiday at one of these, price difference is significant between them and so would like to know if anyone can confirm which is in their opinion better and why?

Lamaya works out £500 more for 2wks for 2 adults and kid...

The location seems to be the key, the Madinat Coraya hotels are located in this protected bay and the Lamaya is one step from a well organized dive centre, well that's what I hope it will be, we will be going there in 2 weeks for diving. All the hotels from the Jaz Group I have been so far have been excellent value for money, www.coraya-divers.de/50/Coraya/Hotels.html

You can't dive the house reef at the Resta in rough weather I heard from a dive forum, but 500 £ is your dive money I suppose.

Hi Hiker,

I am going to primarily dive too so not being able to dive due to rough weather is pointless as the £500 will never get spent :)

I think I will book the Lamaya as all the reviews seem to praise the resort. Can you do me a favour and get me an idea of dive prices as there website does not seem to work...

Thanks for the info too and enjoy the holiday/diving!

we have been to the Coraya twice before and off to the Lamaya in a few weeks. would recommend Coraya dive centre - very professional, lots of dive choices and it is located on the beach at the Lamaya

cant give a comparison between hotel though

We have been to both hotels and Iberotel Lamaya is by far the better one. Especially for diving at Coraya Dive centre .You can always access the sea from the beach in front of Coraya hotel or via the jetty. The sea is always very calm and the coral reef very beautiful.

Resta Grande has a beach but the access to the sea is limited to shallow water areas which contain only dead coral. I did not think it was very safe to enter this shallow water due to the sharp coral and sea urchins. We where there for 2 weeks and the jetty was only open twice, even then you needed to be a strong swimmer due to the rough waves

Hope you have a lovely holiday
