Heard the BB Lagoon was for sale and not being kept up.

Going in November.

Any advice?

Many thanks.

It has been up for sale for more than 3 years now... if however the Orient express group has officially decided no longer to "refresh" operations so to speak I would probably swop as no investor is going to buy anything in FP at this time. I know that they have fired all of the staff that were on limited contracts. Orient Express only has 1 hotel in FP whereas Pearl resorts have 8 establishments

It being up for sale in itself doesn't mean much as a some other hotels and restaurants as well as other business' in BB are up for sale at this time (Sunset boulevard, St. James, dive clubs etc) and they continue their services, "business as usual" kind of.

Hi TV:

Excellent info given in the post above. BBLR has been for sale for some time now and it's been business as usual along the way. :)

You seem to be the real expert here so thank you sooooo much.

Want this 25th Anniversary celebration to be the best!

Like smaller properties and thnking that we should move to the Pearl while we can????

We are staying at Moorea Pearl for the first 5 days.

I welcome your kind thoughts and davice.

Thank you,

You can often get a nice discount by staying at the same property on two different islands, so you should definitely check into staying at the Pearl on BB if you are already booked in the Moorea Pearl.

Ia orana

The BBLr was not a small property to start with so the Pearl will offer a gorgeous setting with a much nicer beach area and the million dollar mount otemanu view.

Do also check for the multi property discount for the Pearl resorts.

The BB Pearl Resort is much nicer IMO than the Bora Bora Lagoon - better beaches, views, nicer spa, most certainly more attentive service. If you are traveling in November, the Bora Bora Pearl has a special going Stay 3 nights/Pay 2 nights with free breakfast daily (same as offered at the Moorea Pearl). So, you should be able to switch from the Bora Bora Lagoon to the Pearl for the same rate or less during that time. If you are booking directly with the hotel, mention that you are considering moving for the Bora Bora Lagoon and it's your anniversary and that you are staying at the Moorea Pearl. I am sure they will offer you a good deal. Hope that helps. Safe and happy travels always! :)
