Is last 2 weeks of Nov a gd time to visit sapa?

I am hoping to do a Hanoi, halong and sapa tour next year. Due to children school schedules, we'll only be able to do this the last 2 weeks of Nov. wondering if anyone here has just done this and have any feedback. From what I read sapa is best seen before paidi harvest. Wondering how the place will be in late Nov. if it is not a gd time, we'd rather not go then go and be disappointed. Any advice or feedback will be much appreciated.

Last 2 weeks of Nov is a good time to visit Hanoi and Halong but Sapa is not if your purpose is only to see paddy field in the harvest. As the harvest in Sapa is on Sept and October and there is nothing on the field after these 2 months. If you are a person who love sightseeing and explore the feature in Sapa with the local culture, ethnic hilltribe minorities, Sapa will be your interesting destination. And one more thing I want to add is that the weather is cold for this month as a winter especially in Sapa where the climate is always cool year round.

Thanks for your advice. If the paddy fields have already been harvested, then will the land look barren? We definitely want to experience the minority tribe culture, and visit te markets and perhaps te silver water fall too.

Are you travel with your family, with children? So remember that for Sapa it's not really convenient for children since they have to trek a lots as well as overnight on the train. You can spend a full day to explore tribe hill market such as: Bac Ha market, Coc Ly market...then visit some villages around Sapa.

However, if you really want to see terraced rice field, you should go between Sept and Oct that is the time of harvest.

Good luck!

Nov is starting cold in Hn and Sapa also, but it's fine to travel both Halong & Sapa. But it's not the time of paddy fields. in Sapa, besides trekking to some ethnic village, there are many markets worth to see as Bac Ha market (on Sunday), Coc ly Market(on Tuesday), Can cau market, love market, etc.

last 2 weeks of Nov is the good time to visit in Hanoi, Halong, Sapa. In this time, the weather cold, dry, sunny, it is convernient to trekking in Sapa, cruise around Halong bay, enjoy autumn in Hanoi. Good time to explore the North of Vietnam.

You should wear warm jacket, shoes, stocks...

Nice holiday in Vietnam!
