bear adventure in ketchikan alaska

Has anyone recently been on a bear adventure in ketchikan alaska?

I am looking for where the best area is to go and what tour group you used. Thanks

Your review just shows how different experiences can be. We went to the rainforest on the first tour of a very wet early September morning. We didn't know about the elevated bridges either... fortunately because perhaps my husband would not have gone and he managed them probably because we saw so many bears!!

One up a tree, a mother and two cubs warding off a male bear who threatened to eat the cubs, an adult and a small bear watching and then picking salmon out of the river. Even if we had booked a floatplane trip, it would have been cancelled because of the mist.

It often rains in Ketchikan and this just added to the atmosphere in the rainforest. It also means that you are more likely to see them! They gave us plastic hooded ponchos which were a welcome addition to our own waterproof clothes. The guides also wear waterproof pants which would be a good idea if you have them. It was just a magical morning and we are still enjoying it and talking about it.
